Transformers for underground networks including a network breaker protection feature thanks to a combined fuse switch (TPC function).

Main characteristics

The breaker protection transformer (TPC) by Cahors is a conventional “cabin” transformer that includes a device similar to a combined fuse switch (three MV fuses with a striker, combined with a three-phase disconnect switch). Ground fault detection is also included, sensitive to currents from 5A and acting as necessary on the disconnect switch. This device have been the subject of several European filings.

  • Primary rated voltage: from 5 to 35 kV with +/- 2.5% adjustment per switch with a live controllable handle (other voltage, contact us)
  • Secondary rated voltage: 410 V (other voltage, contact us)
